Gulf Coast Mental Health Center – Venture House offers Psychosocial Rehabilitation for people with serious psychiatric disorders. Gulf Coast Mental Health Center – Venture House is located in Long Beach, Mississippi.
Gulf Coast Mental Health Center subscribes to the philosophy that it has as its responsibility the mental health of every citizen within the four-county catchment area. They promote better living for all citizens of Region XIII through mental health education, evaluation, and treatment.
Psychosocial Rehabilitation is available to those patients who need less intensive care than hospitalization but more structure and support than outpatient therapy normally affords. Education is another component of the Community Support Program. Both patients and their families are afforded the opportunity to increase their understanding of mental illness and, at the same time, to develop skills that will ease the patient’s transition back into the community.
