About Harlem Community Justice Center – New York
The Harlem Community Justice System is a community counseling clinic located in Harlem, New York. This facility provides services to children and adults who are struggling with mental health, housing equity, and access to legal assistance.
It can be challenging during transitional periods and lack of support. This facility offers a multitude of services to help you move forward and get on the right track. Their men’s empowerment program offers a trauma informed program dedicated to help you heal and recover.
This therapy gives you an opportunity to be vulnerable and open about challenges, triggers, and traumatic experiences and introduces you to techniques you can utilize on a daily basis. Developing coping skills and restructuring old unhealthy thinking to problem solving is part of this therapy to help you identify causes for harmful patterns and decrease the chances of retraumatization.
Their Reentry program is for individuals coming back into society that have been incarcerated. This program provides mental health services and healthcare community resources to help smoothen the transition back to day to day living with the support provided.
The youth and community program is available to children between the ages of thirteen through eighteen who are at risk of being in the criminal justice system. This is also offered to youths that are already involved in the court system as well. Mentorship, support groups, and educating the youth of the harm their actions can impact their loved ones as well as their future.
