About Healthcare Alternative Systems – Wheaton
Healthcare Alternative Systems provides behavioral health care and social services for adolescents and adults in Wheaton, Illinois. They provide an array of programs to treat issues like substance abuse, mental health, domestic violence, and anger management. In addition to outpatient counseling services, they also offer residential programs if you want to work on your recovery in a structured, supervised environment. They accept self pay and private insurance, but won’t turn you away if you’re unable to pay.
One thing I like about this facility is that their services are truly multicultural. They have multilingual providers on staff to make sure that everyone can receive the help they need. In fact, their main focus is making sure that underserved communities don’t have any barriers to comprehensive and personalized care.
They’ll start with a biophysical assessment to understand your personal needs, condition, and recovery goals. Then, they’ll create a custom treatment plan just for you. They offer general and intensive levels of outpatient care, which mostly center on group counseling sessions. In each session, you’ll learn about addiction, come to terms with your own chemical dependency, and learn healthy lifestyle skills. If you need medication to help you overcome your addiction, they can provide it through their medicated assisted recovery program.
Once you exit the program, you can still attend monthly group sessions to get feedback and support during those early stages of recovery. A little later, you’ll partner with a mentor who can provide accountability and help you achieve long term sobriety.
One person who’s gone through this program before said it was a great organization with amazing staff members. Another mentioned that they help everyone succeed in life.
