Located in Kansas City, Missouri is the Heartland Center for Behavioral Change – Jackson County Drug Court. This office supports men and women by providing drug court services to adults who have been involved in the criminal justice system because of drug related charges.
The Heartland Center for Behavioral Change has partnered with the Jackson County Drug Court to create a program that offers a rehabilitating alternative to jail. This program will help you satisfy court ordered requirements but it also offers an avenue for you to learn skills for success that will help you make positive life choices, despite your struggles with substance use.
There is a sliding scale discount available for this program if you qualify.
This program incorporates traditional evidence based therapy to help you work through your addiction. This will include individual counseling and group counseling. Addiction and mental health counselors will help you work through complex emotions and develop thought patterns that will strengthen and sustain your sobriety.
You’ll learn how to identify triggers and how to manage stressful circumstances that might lead to the drug use that pushed you into the criminal justice system to begin with.
The Jackson County Drug Court Program is very person focused. While this program can help you satisfy court obligations related to your drug charges, it’s also a great way for you to reflect on the behavior that led you to substance use.
Through motivational interviewing, trauma focused care and peer support, you’ll receive guidance that will help you refocus your path in life. You’ll find out this program focuses heavily on addiction education in an effort to help you understand the “why” behind the struggles you’re facing.
You also work to build a support system that you can lean on when you need it most. Through family counseling and community support, you and your loved ones will have access to resources in your community that you can turn to even after you complete the recovery program.
