Livonia Counseling Center, operated by Hegira Health, is an outpatient facility that provides mental health and substance abuse therapy services to adults, families and children. They’re staffed with professionals that include licensed social workers and a board certified psychiatrist. The programs offered include the court programs and an intensive outpatient program.
In the court program, the facility provides services that are approved by District Court probation departments in the surrounding area. The services provided are educational groups such as alcohol first offender groups and drivers license reinstatement evaluations. The staff will ensure that individuals with legal issues due to substance use will have all of their probation requirements met.
The intensive outpatient program is offered to individuals who are 18 years and older. The program will focus on increasing your understanding of addiction and developing a relapse prevention plan that allows you to have a substance free lifestyle.
You’ll meet at the facility three days a week and participate in three hours of group counseling. Clients will be able to receive support and encouragement from their peers and learn from each other’s insights on recovery. While you’re in the program, Livonia Counseling Center will do urine drug screening to help you stay accountable to your treatment goals.
The facility is about 20 minutes away from Detroit. When you have time available outside of your treatment sessions, you can use it to find new sober activities to enjoy in the city. One place you might enjoy checking out is Belle Isle, which is an island and park that has a nice view of the city and an aquarium.
