High Point Treatment Center is a nonprofit organization in New Bedford, Massachusetts that assists individuals who are struggling with substance use disorder. At their Kilburn Street location, you’ll be able to receive transitional support services to help you continue to be successful in your recovery. This program is available for patients who are stepping down from High Point’s clinical stabilization services or anyone within the community.
As a part of the program, you can receive assistance with accessing medication assisted treatment. The facility provides psychoeducational group meetings that cover topics such as substance use & recovery skills, life skills, health and wellness, and relapse prevention.
Some of the substance use skills your counselor may teach you are recognizing your triggers and developing coping skills. The life skills you might be taught may include financial management and time management. You’ll also enjoy the recreational activities they offer. They can help you find new ways to reduce your stress and enjoy life without using substances. Common recreational activities that may be a part of this program are yoga and exercise.
The transitional support services team can also refer you to recovery oriented settings. This can include transitional or supportive housing programs, community based treatment, and residential rehabilitation services.
