About Highland Rivers Behavioral Health–George W. Hartmann Center – Marietta
The George W. Hartman Center of the Cobb County Community Services Board, located in Marietta, Georgia, provides alcohol and drug rehab assistance to teens aged 13 to 17. They specialize in residential care and mental healthcare services. Clients are often on Medicaid or are referred by the justice system.
The residential program at George W. Hartman Center is gender specific. The boys’ and girls’ programs include counseling, education, relapse prevention, and recreational activities. Faith based healing is also available. Random drug screening is a part of treatment in many facilities.
One of the main factors in the program is family conferencing. The staff wants the family involved in recovery, so family programs are offered three times per month. In addition, clients also have individual sessions from 1pm to 4pm on weekdays. This way, there is a better chance for a successful rehabilitation when the teen goes home.
All clients attend school in the center. The education programs are accredited, which means that the students won’t be falling behind their peers when they leave the program.
