About Hoffman Homes for Youth – Littlestown
Hoffman Homes for Youth is a nonprofit center in Littletown, Pennsylvania. Established in 1910, they have helped teens, young adults, and families with substance abuse and behavioral health issues. They have a broad range of inpatient and outpatient programs. There’s also spiritual and academic support.
Clients live at the center throughout their stay in the residential program. Staff are on hand 24 hours a day to provide support and supervision. Clients follow a daily schedule of recovery activities, including therapy (individual, group, and family), specialty groups, skills building, and education. Arts, animal, and equine therapy are also available for creative kids. The center was originally a spiritual site, and spiritual care is part of the program today.
You’ll have access to video games, television, radio, and books. Outdoor recreation can include fishing, soccer, softball, an indoor gym, and ping pong. There’s also group events, including trips to movie theaters, bowling alleys, and the YMCA. Phones are recording equipment, however, are not allowed.
Outpatient care delivers mental health and addiction therapy on a part time basis. You live at home and visit the facility on a regular schedule to participate in therapy groups. The program can last up to six months.
The transitional housing program provides you with additional support as you transition back to your communities. In addition to therapy activities, clients can also receive career coaching, primary medical care, and potential enrollment in the Hoffman Academy. This school is accredited and provides grades 1-12 with academic, social, and technology courses.
