About Homecoming Project – Bel Air

Known for its quaint, small town feel, Bel Air, Maryland, is home to Homecoming Project. Since 1999, this halfway house has provided a safe space for adult women aged 18 or older to focus on recovery. You can access treatment best practices while healing among peers on similar paths.

They require you to be sober for a minimum of 10 days upon admission. You’ll live in an eight-bed, single family home in a thriving recovery community away from distractions. They provide outpatient counseling, 12 Step programming and recovery and life skills groups. These approaches can help you develop coping skills, enhance confidence and gain relapse prevention skills to sustain recovery.

What strikes me most is their educational sessions. They partner with government professionals and local businesses to provide weekly classes. You’ll benefit from learning about different topics to promote long term recovery. Topics like job professionalism, personal safety and money management are covered. I think this is great because you’ll gain the tools to adjust and function independently in society.

Another standout feature I noticed was their holistic practices. You can participate in yoga and acupuncture as stress and pain management alternatives. These approaches can help you develop new self-care practices to benefit your journey.

I also think their career development and financial services are fantastic. Many of their clients are experiencing homelessness and unemployment upon entering the program. You’ll work with a case manager to assess your essential needs and recovery goals. Their dedicated team can help you discover a career that works for you, prepare for taxes, obtain your GED and secure proper identification. That way you can build a stable foundation for recovery.
