About Homme Youth & Family Programs – Wittenberg
Homme Youth and Family Programs is a residential recovery program for youths and adolescents with a history of trauma, sexual perpetration and sexually reactive behavior and secondary substance use issues. It’s situated on a sprawling 200-acre campus along Hemlock Road just off US Highway 29 in the small, peaceful village of Wittenberg within Shawano County, Wisconsin.
The program also supports individuals with cognitive and behavioral challenges, dual diagnoses and experiences of delinquency or victimization, especially those working on building independent living skills. They also welcome those struggling or in danger of entering the adult criminal justice system. It is a home away from home for troubled youths.
Patients served are males aged 10 to 17 and sometimes up to age 21.
The program strives to create a warm and nurturing residential environment where these youths are treated with dignity as they work on interpersonal relationships and skill building.

Residents take full advantage of these surrounding natural attractions. They engage in boating, canoeing and more. In this beautiful rural environment, troubled youths are equipped with practical tools that enable them to thrive as productive members of their community through a combination of therapy, education and structured activities.
Homme Youth and Family program adopts a tailored approach following thorough intake assessment and personalized treatment planning. A typical day involves structured activities encompassing sight & sound supervision and individual and group therapy. Therapeutic sessions use trauma-informed care and proven methods like trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy and aggression replacement training. This helps residents process past traumatic experiences, develop healthier coping mechanisms and build emotional resilience for lasting stability.
They also offer art therapy and specialized care for juvenile sex offenders. The program emphasizes family involvement and offers on-campus housing, family therapy and transportation assistance for family visits.
Optional spiritual counseling is provided for religious-minded youths. Psychiatric care, including medication management and monitoring, is provided as well to support teens with dually diagnosed mental issues.
The facility boasts a fully accredited on-campus school where residents can learn standard coursework and earn high school credit. They also gain employment-focused vocational skills like woodworking, auto repair and computers among others. Additionally, the program offers community service opportunities where teens can volunteer in the service of others. This may involve working in animal shelters, senior homes and other services to the vulnerable population.
Alternative programs are available to support at-risk youth by providing structured interventions to address behavioral challenges. The wraparound care encompasses case management. This may involve help with community reintegration, linkage to community social services and ongoing support to address individual needs. It’s all about empowering these youths and their families to build resilience and lead healthier and more stable lives.
