Horizon Services – Chrysalis is a treatment home in Oakland, California. They treat women ages 18 and up who have substance use and mental health disorders (dual diagnosis). You need to be a resident of Alameda County to qualify. You’ll stay up to 90 days for treatment.

The house uses credentialed mental health and addiction counselors to provide a balanced and flexible course of treatment in a safe environment. The treatment approach is holistic which means they take into account cultural diversity, social support and family relationships to help you with emotional growth and psychological and physical healing.

You’ll have individual therapy and learn how to avoid self destructive behaviors. You’ll also learn how to regulate your emotions while developing new coping skills to replace old patterns of substance use. You’ll play a role in your own healing by being a positive model for others as you learn to be a productive member of this therapeutic community

They take Medi-Cal, but you’ll need to undergo a telephone screening first and have a referral from Alameda County Behavioral Health Care Services. They also take court or criminal justice referrals, but they must come from the court mandating the services. Check with the treatment center for other insurance options.
