The Housing Works facility is a center located in New York, New York offering services to individuals who are battling addiction and struggle with mental health conditions. The facility offers a multitude of services to provide support on your journey of recovery.
Their harm reduction programs are designed specifically for those who are struggling with substance abuse disorders or are at risk. The Overdose Prevention program is to help you or a loved one gain knowledge about the possibility of overdoses and what to do if or when this occurs. A Naloxone kit along with Narcan training is provided.
To reduce the chances of exposure to HIV, Hep C, and other STIs they have a syringe exchange program. Part of this program includes street outreach and offers clean supplies to help keep the community clean and safe.
At this facility they can refer you to clinics that provide MAT services. This treatment prescribes medication from a provider to help you combat cravings and reduce withdrawals from the use of opioids or alcohol that is impacting your mental, emotional, and physical wellness.
They also offer a program called OASES. This includes outpatient substance use treatment and medical care. Group and individual therapy sessions will be weekly to help you receive the support and guidance needed during this transition to living a healthier lifestyle.
