Treatment at the Houston Behavioral Healthcare Hospital begins with a mental health assessment to screen for symptoms of addiction or co-occurring mental health disorders.

The intensive outpatient program (IOP) is designed for adults and adolescents. Participants attend individual and group treatment sessions for improved coping skills, peer support, and recovery support meetings. Sessions are held 3-4 days per week.

Like other outpatient programs, the partial hospitalization program (PHP) involves participants’ attending individual and group sessions, but PHP participants attend treatment most days of the week. The PHP may be best suited to dual-diagnosis treatments and acute substance use disorders.
