About Jackson South Community Hospital – Behavioral Health – Miami
Jackson South Community Hospital – Behavioral Health is the largest free-standing behavioral health hospital in Miami-Dade county. It is also one of the largest in Florida and prides itself on exceeding the national average for treating and managing substance abuse through its outpatient solutions. They currently accept most major medical plans.
Along with an adult outpatient program that specifically includes medication assisted treatment (MAT), trained experts also provide mental health support to get to the root causes that might trigger substance abuse. The hospital also specifically focuses on the unique demands of treating opioid use disorders.
While some people may thrive with the less structured format of an outpatient detox system, others may find that they need more consistent hands-on care. The 20 bed inpatient unit at Jackson South is formatted to treat both addiction and underlying mental health causes. This can include family intervention to encourage individuals struggling with addiction to enroll in the program.
The hospital focuses on a two-part treatment solution which combines addressing the addiction as well as understanding potential mental health factors that contribute to substance abuse. Along with medication assisted treatment (MAT), participating patients for both inpatient and outpatient programs may also be prescribed medications to treat underlying mental health diagnoses.
