Jelani – Kirkwood Avenue is a transitional housing solution for homeless and pregnant women. They’re based in San Francisco, California. They provide a variety of services, including parenting support, job readiness, substance abuse counseling and assistance with finding permanent housing.
Jelani House is run by the Homeless Prenatal Program. They have capacity for 17 women. They provide individual and group support, prenatal care and parenting support. They also provide housing for one year after you’ve had your baby, helping you ease into motherhood in a safe and loving environment. They offer specialized counseling for women experiencing drug or alcohol addiction.
Finding employment is another huge hurdle that people experiencing homelessness have to face. While staying at Jelani House, they’ll help you build your resume, prepare for job interviews and teach you important vocational skills.
