About Jersey Shore University Medical Center Behavioral Health – Neptune City
The Jersey Shore University Medical Center has a variety of hospitals and clinics around New Jersey, including the Behavioral Health Center in Neptune. This clinic provides psychiatric assessments, mental health and substance use treatment and medication assisted treatment (MAT) for adults.
The Jersey Shore University Medical Center is part of Hackensack Meridian Health. They accept a wide range of insurance plans, including Medicaid and Medicare.
The Jersey Shore UMC provides mental health care and addiction treatment through an intensive outpatient program (IOP) as well as general outpatient care.
MAT services are available for those struggling with opioid or alcohol addiction. The Center also provides mental health medication when it’s appropriate and can provide integrated care for co occurring disorders.
The IOP provides individual and group counseling several times a week. In these sessions, you’ll learn recovery skills and strategies for relapse prevention and receive social support and family education.
The general outpatient program is for those with less severe substance use. The goal of the program is to provide substance use education and prevent more severe substance use disorder.
I like that there are several group programs available. There’s a dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) group that helps you manage your emotions and reduce stress. There’s also a trauma focused group that can help you address traumatic experiences that might be affecting substance use, and there’s a group focused on relapse prevention.
I noticed they also offer a resource program for intoxicated drivers, which can provide court ordered education as well as additional support to help you get back on your feet after a DUI conviction.
