Johnson County Mental Health Center is a service of the Johnson County local government in Mission, Kansas. They serve adults and adolescents who need mental health and substance use services. Their addiction treatment services encompass a full spectrum of care including drug and alcohol detox, inpatient care, and outpatient services.
The drug and alcohol detox unit is a service for adults aged 18 or older who need assistance to withdraw. It’s a non-medical detox setting with 14 beds and is staffed around the clock.
The residential drug rehab is a service for adolescents between the ages of 12 and 18. You should be prepared to stay for 28 days to recover. If you’re still in school, you’ll continue your studies while enrolled in the program.
The intensive outpatient program serves adults who need intensive mental health and addiction treatment and need to continue to fulfill family and work responsibilities. You’ll live in their own homes while participating in this program, which requires a commitment for 8 weeks for 3 hours a day, 3 days a week. You’ll engage in education and skill-building activities.
In the regular outpatient program, clients meet with their counselor and, if needed, their provider on a regularly scheduled basis, usually weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly. Their staff uses cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed care.
