About JTCHS – Jefferson Reaves House Women’s Residential SA Treatment Center (24 Hour) – Miami
The Jessie Trice Community Health System or JTCHS in Miami, Florida has been providing low cost integrated care for residents of Miami-Dade County for more than 55 years. They are a Federally Qualified Health Center with over sixteen facilities offering distinct programs in the area. The Jefferson Reaves House is a residential recovery program for women in the early stages of recovery. That is, women whom having completed inpatient rehab seek a safe and structured setting to attend outpatient care and build independent life skills before reentry into the community. This is just one of the great programs operated by JTCHS.
Jefferson Reaves House can accommodate 40 pregnant or postpartum women at a time. The facility provides a conducive living environment where these women can navigate recovery with the support and encouragement of peers. They also benefit from the support of staff who provide 24/7 guidance. While onsite, they attend therapy in group and individual settings to build practical coping skills that support sobriety and prevent relapse. The sessions may address gender specific topics like trauma, parenting skills and managing stress & emotions. Therapy may integrate proven methods like seeking safety to address past trauma that may fuel relapse.
They even address co-occurring mental issues. The program may also include parenting classes and newborn education, nutritional counseling and peer support groups. Stress management techniques like yoga or meditation and recreational activities may be available to ensure overall wellbeing.
The most appealing attribute of this program is its family-oriented approach. You’re allowed to bring your children under the age of five into treatment with you. This creates a safe and nurturing space where you and your children can heal and grow together. It also helps strengthen the parent-child bond while providing essential parenting support and resources. Your kids may attend school within the community or benefit from childcare services in the facility, if any, as you navigate recovery. The care team may assist you with housing or employment via case management as you move forward in recovery.
