About KPC – Syosset
The Kenneth Peters Center for Recovery is a substance use disorder treatment facility for young adults and adults and is located in Syosset, New York. This is an outpatient treatment center. They use evidence-based methods and a holistic approach. They believe that you need to heal the physical, psychological, and spiritual parts of the body, along with the family.
This center uses a three phase approach of outpatient rehabilitation, clinical care, and transition. During the first phase of outpatient rehabilitation, you will attend three hour sessions for 3-5 times a week. During this time you will go through education and therapy to deal with issues that may happen during early sobriety. During this time, you will also be expected to go to a self -help program and get a sponsor.
The next phase, clinical care, is a step down from the outpatient rehab. While attending phase 2, you will attend 2-3 sessions a week, with each session lasting an hour and a half. These sessions will educate you on addiction as a disease and how it affects your personal growth, family, and development. During this phase, you will also attend with group or individual therapy to address relapse, recovery, or abstinence, if needed.
The third phase is the step down to transition. During this phase you will start working on discharge goals. You will also learn how to deal with sabotaging behaviors and the impact of earlier trauma.
