About Lena Pope – Fort Worth
Lena Pope is a nonprofit organization in Fort Worth, Texas, that’s on a mission to help families to be stronger and healthier together. Part of this is outpatient counseling for drug and alcohol addiction because of how destructive addiction can be for families.
Keep in mind that while this organization is a family services center, the addiction counseling is for adults. They use group counseling to help you navigate and learn about your addiction and work toward recovery. If you’re already in recovery, they can help you maintain and strengthen your sobriety too.
I found it interesting too that education is such a big part of the programs at this outpatient center. You’ll learn about things like relapse and how to prevent relapse. You’ll also understand addiction better and the effect it has on you. They’ll help you develop coping skills and anger management skills so you won’t feel so compelled to return to drugs and alcohol. You’ll gain all of these important skills while also strengthening your emotional health.
Addiction counseling is an important service that Lena Pope offers, but I was touched to see how many other ways they help kids and families too. They have explored factors that hurt families and are addressing each of them in their own way. They have early learning centers for example and programs for kids in the juvenile justice system. Clients at this center talk about the wonderful changes they’ve seen in their families and they appreciate that they’re treated with respect and understanding.
