About Lexington Center – West Haverstraw
Lexington Center for Recovery in Haverstraw, New York, is an addiction treatment facility for adults and adolescents. It’s located in the Samsondale Professional Plaza just off Route 202. The organization started in the early 80s and slowly expanded to multiple locations, eventually opening the Haverstraw clinic in 2007. The services included at this facility are comprehensive assessments, group counseling sessions, and individual counseling sessions. The clinic is licensed by the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse.
One of the things that I like about this facility is that they offer specialized clinical services for Spanish-speaking clients. They also cater to the unique needs of female clients by offering their non-intensive morning women’s program. Psychiatric services are available with medication management to help individuals dealing with mental health issues that require medication.
In addition to these services, the Adolescent Program provides holistic counseling services to adolescents and adults up to age 25 who have been affected by substance use. Along with counseling, the program offers parent support, life skills training, recreational activities and substance abuse education. They also conduct home visits and provide coordination of care.
Another unique service given to adolescents and young is the Seven Challenges Program. The facility outlines seven different challenges for clients to achieve as a part of their recovery. It’s designed to help young people feel motivated and committed to change. You’ll learn what it takes to end a lifestyle of drug abuse and prepare to be successful in making that change. When you have time after treatment, you can relax near the Hudson River or take a hike at Bear Mountain Park.
