About Lifewell Behavioral Wellness – West Southern Avenue – Mesa
In Mesa, Arizona, near the Arizona Museum of Natural History was Lifewell Behavioral Wellness – West Southern Avenue. Through the merger of New Arizona Family and Triple R behavioral Health in 2011 Lifewell Behavioral was established. This location is now closed, but the merger has resulted in continued treatment opportunities through Lifewell at locations across the metro Phoenix area.
Their non-12-Step program is a different approach to sobriety where patients would follow alternative methods to suit their personal beliefs and needs. This method was very appealing for clients that did not really resonate with the original 12 Step program.
Psychotropic medication management was another one of their more unique programs. This provided psychiatric care and prescriptions tailored to your own mental health needs. This method ensured a complete treatment plan.
Cognitive behavioral therapy is commonly done in group settings, where patients learn how to identify and change negative thoughts, behaviors and patterns. This helped Lifewell clients learn more coping mechanisms when managing mental health issues like depression, anxiety and substance abuse. Additionally their life skill workshop was great for post-recovery because they offered training on conflict resolution, stress management, communication and problem solving.
When this clinic closed they routed patients to the newest facility on 262 East University Dr which is only 3.5 miles away from the original location. This area offers multiple opportunities for outdoor therapy and scenic settings for relaxation. Usery Mountain Regional Park is a short drive away and has a variety of things to do like hiking, bird watching and picnicking. You’ll also find multiple nature trails for beginners and experts where you can get exercise and soak in beautiful views of the Sonoran Desert.
