About Lighthouse Care Center – Conway
Lighthouse Care Center in Conway, South Carolina offers inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services in a hospital location for adolescents, adults and older adults. They have secure units to address your unique challenges providing 24/7 staff and a no-cost confidential assessment to determine if you have a mental health condition or substance use disorder that would benefit from care.
The admission team is available 24/7 and can schedule a face-to-face, free assessment with a master’s prepared clinician to determine if you meet the criteria for inpatient care. They provide care for mental health conditions and co-occurring substance use disorders called dual diagnosis. Treatment for dual diagnosis requires specialized care that is administered simultaneously since the conditions often exacerbate each other.
The adult dual diagnosis program treats individuals who meet the criteria for a chemical dependency and primary psychiatric disorder. The goal is to quickly assess your needs and provide detoxification and psychiatric interventions. They take voluntary and involuntary admissions but you must be medically stable for admission.
Once you have completed your customized treatment program using evidence-based therapy such as cognitive therapies or motivational interviewing, you can be referred to their adult intensive outpatient program that uses a mix of evidence-based traditional therapies and alternative treatments. They teach healthy life skills and interpersonal skills to support your recovery journey.
Your program will also include relapse prevention to help you identify factors that may trigger a chemical dependency relapse and develop skills to counteract that. During an outpatient program you may be able to accommodate some of your responsibilities at work or school. You’ll also have access to weekly medication evaluation and management from a board certified psychiatrist when medication is necessary.
The program requires at least three sessions each week and you are encouraged to attend Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous meetings weekly. They work with most commercial insurance providers in the area as well as Medicare, Medicaid and TriCare. They will help verify your insurance coverage before beginning treatments and encourage you to call and ask questions to ensure you understand your financial obligations.
