About Los Alamos Family Council – Los Alamos
Los Alamos Family Council is located in Los Alamos, New Mexico. Their mission is to promote social and emotional well being through prevention, counseling and education. They have provided mental and behavioral health services to people in and around Los Alamos since 1962. They also help with drug and alcohol abuse, and they have a DWI program. Their DWI school is the only one that’s approved by the state of New Mexico.
They have a contract with Los Alamos County to operate Youth Activity Centers which is a prevention program for students in third through eighth grade. Their counseling and therapy programs are for adults, adolescents and children.
The drug and alcohol abuse program is provided in an intensive outpatient setting. You’ll get treatment, education, therapeutic groups, intervention support and referrals for inpatient services if needed. They also provide information about other support groups and presentations that might help with your situation.
You can get access to all of their services through most insurance providers, and you won’t be refused service if you can’t pay. They’ll provide a sliding scale to work with that is based on your income. You need to make an appointment for the intake process, which may have a waitlist.
One really cool thing about this treatment center is the nearby pickleball court. This can be a great spot to get some exercise and recreation to complement your treatment.
