About Lowell House – Glenice Sheehan Women’s Recovery Home – Tewksbury
Lowell House’s Glenice Sheehan Women’s Recovery Home is a nonprofit treatment center for adult women, located in Tewksbury, Massachusetts. They specialize in the treatment of alcoholism, mental health and substance abuse, and opioid addiction. Their programs include residential treatment, outpatient programs, and aftercare.
Residential treatment is available for women who need 24/7 care to help stabilize their minds and bodies. The goal of this program is to provide deep inner work through therapeutic models of treatment that help you ultimately return to your communities as contributing members of society. The average length of stay is six months. Upon completion of residential treatment, most women will transition into intensive outpatient or outpatient treatment.
Intensive outpatient care is a clinically intensive, highly structured outpatient program for those in the early stages of their recovery, or who have just finished inpatient treatment. Oftentimes a dual diagnosis is present. Meetings with counselors, case managers, and therapists are part of the process. The program lasts 4–6 weeks, although the amount of time and exact frequency is determined by individual needs and goals.
Their outpatient program requires less time at the facility each week. Available services include individual therapy, group therapy, addiction education, and a specialized early recovery group that meets weekly. You’ll also receive case management and aftercare services to help with housing, healthcare connections, life skills enhancement, career and employment, and other socio-economic needs. These services help you create connections with outside resources that can enhance their mental health and recovery.
They may accept most forms of private insurance. Out of network benefits can vary so ask your individual provider to confirm your coverage.
