About LSS – Lutheran Social Services – BART – Barronett
Men with addictions who have come into contact with the criminal justice system can receive treatment at LSS – Lutheran Social Services – Barron Area Residential Treatment (BART). This eight bed residential treatment center is located in Barronett, Wisconsin. Licensed counselors at this facility offer services to adult males with a history of substance use disorders who have been referred by the Department of Corrections.
The duration of stay is based on the needs of the client. They offer halfway house or transitional residential services. The program employs evidence based strategies aimed at lowering relapse and recidivism. Treatment is tailored for men. They offer group therapy programs and counseling for substance abuse. To address criminogenic needs they provide programming that is evidence based.
They provide family counseling and education in addition to individual counseling. Their residential mental health and crisis programs allow participants to live in their hometowns in order to network and locate nearby resources that can help them both now and in the future. With a constant focus on recovery, the program aims to give residents the least restrictive environment possible so they can resume their best lives.
Their services include restorative justice for those under the supervision of various correctional organizations. Their other services include job support and guidance, case management and counseling. The majority of the people they assist will either be relocating to their communities soon or are already residents.
It can be difficult to return home after incarceration. Together with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections and the Federal Bureau of Prisons, they assist individuals in making a successful transition back into their homes and communities. They work with the local county jails to provide assessments, a full range of case management services and community resources for individuals who deal with the legal system and correctional facilities.
