About LSS – Lutheran Social Services – Spring City Corner Clubhouse – Waukesha
LSS – Lutheran Social Services – Spring City Corner Clubhouse is located in downtown Waukesha, Wisconsin. This is a prevocational, second-step recovery program serving adults diagnosed with mental illness. Those suffering from chronic substance use disorder and co-occurring conditions may also benefit from this program. However, such patients may be referred to their inpatient or outpatient substance abuse programs.
The Clubhouse is operated in conjunction with Waukesha County Health and Human Services. Their services follow an international model involving social contact and structured daily routines for people with mental illness. You’ll receive recovery support and meet new people as an active community member. This breaks the cycle of isolation and loneliness that increases the risk of psychiatric hospitalization.
You’ll also participate in a work-ordered day that mirrors regular working hours alongside other members. This fosters deeper interaction and connection with peers, thereby enhancing your social competence and self-esteem while helping you gain valuable vocational skills and educational growth. You’ll also discover or unlock your untapped potential and unique talents.
The staff are very compassionate, friendly and efficient. They’ll streamline your social connections and support and guide you in realizing your employment goals. This may be in the form of transitional employment arrangements, independent job assistance and career coaching. They also provide educational referrals and tutoring, employment workshops and volunteer opportunities. These foster personal growth, stability and a sense of purpose, which aids lasting recovery. Comments from past clients reflect a positive experience and quality care delivery.
