About MANCHESTER CLINIC – Manchester
The Manchester Clinic is a behavioral health center in Manchester, Connecticut, that provides substance abuse and mental health treatment. They strive to offer patients evidence based treatments to promote addiction recovery. The services available at this facility include intensive outpatient programming, medication assisted treatment (MAT), individual and group counseling and family therapy. The medications that clients have access to for withdrawal relief are naltrexone, methadone and buprenorphine. Along with these services, the facility also provides medication management. The Manchester Clinic has a staff of experienced counselors, physicians and other healthcare professionals. Mental health and substance abuse treatment is available for adults and adolescents.
The intensive outpatient program for adults includes three hours of outpatient group therapy daily. Depending on the needs of the patient, they will receive this treatment three to five days a week. Most clients are in the intensive outpatient program for about eight to 12 weeks. The group sessions will focus on a range of topics, such as building healthy relationships, stress management and coping with trauma. I like that they also offer specialized group sessions for topics such as veteran issues, support for survivors of abuse and LGBTQ issues. The groups will have no more than 12 participants.
Patients will be in an environment where they can process their thoughts in a positive way and build supportive peer relationships. Patients will also gain knowledge related to wellness and learn new skills to succeed in maintaining recovery.
The teen services at the Manchester Clinic cater to individuals between the ages of 13 and 17. Teen clients will also participate in daily groups where they’ll learn about relapse prevention and receive education on substance use. The teen program will typically last about six to 12 weeks.
