About Maryhurst – Treasure Home – Louisville
Maryhurst’s mission is to strengthen and empower children and families who have the greatest need. They are a non-profit organization and the only one in the area that serves adolescent girls that have been diagnosed as being severely traumatized by abuse.
They are located in Louisville, Kentucky. One of their services is a residential treatment facility for girls ages 11 to 18 years old. They offer a highly structured program for girls who have severe emotional disabilities and need intense supervision and treatment.
Maryhurst provides 6 to 12 month stays for girls who need therapeutic treatment to overcome abuse, trauma and neglect. I like that their treatment respects cultural diversity and uses a team approach to help the patients recover and succeed.
They offer a broad variety of clinical, educational and medical services and activities. They also provide alcohol and drug assessments and services including Seven Challenges. This is a program that guides youth to evaluate their lives and think about the changes they want to make and supports them to succeed in carrying out those changes.
They have an excellent educational program that helps students who had low, below average grades finally succeed in their academics.
Maryhurst’s Neuville cottage is specially designed for teens who have alcohol or drug issues. Here, these young women will get residential treatment where they can overcome their addictive behaviors.
Clients staying here will get access to the same range of intensive individual, group, family and expressive therapies. Girls will also get mentor relationships with youth counselors.
I like that they offer cultural, spiritual and recreational activities as well.
