A great thing about this facility is they offer a variety of medications to help with reducing your cravings and withdrawal symptoms. The medications available to you are Vivitrol, Buprenorphine, and methadone.
While these medications relieve you of your symptoms, you’ll participate in counseling sessions where you’ll learn relapse prevention strategies and coping skills. The counselor may use evidence based therapies such as dialectical behavioral therapy to teach you ways you can regulate your emotions without using substances.
Clients who are addicted to substances tend to have other mental health challenges or life issues that are affecting them. The facility has therapists who are trained to address a variety of different concerns, such as stress from life adjustments, low self esteem and anger management.
If these issues contribute to your addiction, then treating them will also support your overall healing. The therapists can also help with issues that may have no relation to your substance use disorder, such as ADHD and obsessive compulsive disorder.
