About MCCS Henderson Hall – Substance Abuse Combat Center – SACC – Arlington

MCCS Henderson Hall’s Substance Abuse Combat Center is also known as SACC. They’re part of the Marine Corps treatment option for enlisted and officers on active duty in Arlington, Virginia. The city is home to the Pentagon and Arlington National Cemetery, a rich blend of history and modernity.

They use an aggressive outreach and prevention program, including curriculums ranging in length from 4.5 to 16 hours under a “Protect What You’ve Earned” program. Their mission is to help Henderson Hall Marines to reduce substance abuse related incidents, which improves the operational readiness of our armed services personnel. This includes developing and deploying prevention and education strategies within a compassionate environment. They provide screening, assessment, treatment, referrals, and aftercare.

They must address the unique leadership challenges that are posed by substance abuse in the US military. Unit commanders are required to implement a three pronged strategy of deterrence, prevention, and intervention that helps protect enlisted Marines.

You also have access to resources within the military, including a substance abuse program, community counseling, family advocacy, and Military One Source. Military One Source are prevention and care resources for service members to maintain optimal physical and mental health.

If you’re more comfortable receiving care outside the military network, they can also connect you with community resources through the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.

The military relies on leadership to educate Marines and their families about substance misuse and how to access services. Command leaders are responsible for establishing and maintaining policy on high risk substance use, including establishing military drug testing programs.
