The outpatient program at McLean–Child and Adolescent Outpatient Services is designed for clients who need intensive structure and support but who do not require hospitalization or inpatient care. Clients must engage in a minimum of 20 hours of treatment each week. The program’s primary treatment modality is trauma informed, CBT, and DBT based psychotherapy, including individual, group, and family therapy. Evidence based complementary treatments, including creative arts and experiential therapy, are also available. They prioritize academics and recovery focused life skills training to promote sustained recovery and to prepare clients to live healthy, independent lives.
Clients receive robust aftercare planning and support aligned with their unique therapeutic needs. Services may include 12 step program induction, peer coaching, academic and vocational training, and referrals for medical, mental health, and/or social service programs.
McLean–Child and Adolescent Outpatient Services is accredited by the Joint Commission. They accept private insurance, military insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, and self pay. Financial aid, daily fee schedules, and sliding scale payment assistance are available.
