Memorial Hospital is an acute care hospital offering a range of services for children, teens and adults in Jacksonville, Florida. If you’re an adult struggling with a drug or alcohol addiction, you can visit their Mental Health and Wellness department to find help. They provide partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs to help people overcome their condition. There’s also a special inpatient program just for seniors. They accept private insurance, self payment, Medicare and Medicaid.
If you need a high level of support you’ll start out in their partial hospitalization program. I like this program because they customize their treatments to meet your needs. Most people need some combination of individual therapy, group therapy and medication management. You’ll attend sessions for five hours a day, five days a week.
The same services are available in their intensive outpatient program, but the schedule isn’t quite as vigorous. In this program you’ll focus mostly on group therapy. They offer different kinds of therapeutic groups to help you find peer support, encouragement and accountability. In your sessions you’ll share your experiences, hear from others and learn life skills to help you reach your goals.
Older adults who need round the clock care can stay at the Senior Pavillion. This unit offers 24 hour monitoring, daily psychiatry sessions and family therapy to help clients work through their mental health struggles and achieve recovery.
