About Mental Health America Dutchess County – Poughkeepsie
MARC Chemical Dependency Crisis Center, now merged with Mental Health America Dutchess County, offers sober supported housing and community residences for adults in Poughkeepsie, New York. Mental Health America (MHA) also offers mobile crisis intervention services for individuals in need of urgent care.
The MHA office is conveniently located not far from downtown Poughkeepsie. In your spare time outside of the facility, you can visit Victor C. Waryas Park. You can go for a relaxing walk and get a nice view of the Hudson River.
Finding housing can sometimes be a stressful and financial burden for individuals working on their recovery. The sober supportive housing takes the burden off of your shoulders and allows you to focus continuing your healing from addiction. The residence you stay will only cost you 30% of your monthly income.
You’ll have access to treatments such as support groups and counseling. Additional services that will be available to you are job counseling, case managers, vocational development and a sober support network. Case managers can assist you in accessing other resources in the community that may help with your recovery.
MHA Dutchess County has all female and all male community residences available. Clients can stay in these facilities for up to nine months.
The resources you can receive while you’re living in the residence include life skills training, counseling and outpatient substance abuse treatment programs. The facility desires to help clients eventually access employment opportunities and achieve independent living.
