About Mercy Intensive Outpatient Behavioral Health – Edgewood – St. Louis
Mercy Health was founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1986. In St. Louis, Missouri you’ll find their Edgewood Behavioral Health Center. Here, adults and teens with mental health and co-occurring substance abuse issues can get outpatient treatment.
This facility is located in a part of the Creve Coeur area of St. Louis. It’s easily accessible by both car and public transit. This facility is close to amenities, parks and shopping.
They accept health insurance and self-pay clients.
Edgewood offers an IOP for adults and one for adolescents as an alternative or step-down from inpatient care. This program requires clients to commit three days a week to their treatment.
The IOP helps clients learn how to better understand their illness, develop coping skills and function as best as possible.
I like that clients have an initial psychiatric evaluation and online medication management while they’re enrolled in the program. Group therapy is led by licensed clinicians who use CBT, DBT and other proven methods to support recovery.
The group for adolescents is for youth 17 and under. Patients who are 18 but still in high school may also join the adolescent IOP. I like that this program engages caregivers and school officials in the treatment process.
It’s good to note that the adolescent IOP may qualify for payment under the St. Louis County Children’s Service Fund.
