About Mercy Intensive Outpatient Behavioral Health – Washington – Washington
If you’re looking for mental healthcare or treatment for a substance use disorder (SUD) in Washington, Missouri, Mercy Intensive Outpatient Behavioral Health may be a good option. They offer adolescent and adult intensive outpatient programs (IOP) for mental health and co-occurring substance use issues. The center accepts insurance and most major providers cover the cost of services.
Washington is located on the south bank of the Missouri River about 50 miles west of St. Louis and is part of the greater St. Louis area. The treatment center is only one mile from the Downtown Washington Historic District, a great place to experience beautiful 19th century architecture, antique shops, and charming storefronts.
The treatment center has two IOPs. One is for adults 18 and over and the other is for youth ages 12-17. Both IOPs require clients to attend three days per week. The programs are good alternatives to inpatient hospitalization and also serve as a step down from inpatient treatment.
The outpatient programs include customized treatment planning and access to a psychiatric assessment for medication management if appropriate. Clients receive intensive treatment for mental health disorders such as bipolar, grief, depression, anxiety, anger, addiction, and self harm behaviors.
A unique program offered here is the Substance Use Recovery Program (SURP) for clients with OUD. The program is virtual and ensures that clients without access to a clinic or the ability to pay for services can receive MAT. The program includes a virtual visit with a physician to prescribe the medications and a social worker to meet your mental health needs.
Another distinctive therapy offered at this center is interpersonal therapy (ITP). ITP addresses your social life and relationships and how they affect your mental health. In the past, ITP was used exclusively to treat major depressive disorder. It’s now been shown to be effective for substance use and addiction and the therapists here use it for both disorders.
