Meridian Health Services – West 8th Street provides physical and mental health services for people of all ages across Indiana. This Muncie location offers primary, dental, and behavioral health care through two intensive outpatient programs. Here, you can also find a dedicated Addiction and Recovery Center to help you break your dependency on drugs and alcohol.
They’ll cater their treatment options based on your health and the severity of your condition. Something that I think is neat about this program is that your plan is broken into two different phases. First, you’ll participate in their intensive outpatient treatment, which includes at least nine hours a week of therapy and education. Some of the other services you may receive include peer recovery support, medication management, and medication assisted treatment using Suboxone and Vivitrol.
Then, you’ll move into their 12 week relapse prevention program, which includes weekly group therapy sessions. During each session, you’ll talk about ways to overcome your triggers, use healthy coping techniques, and achieve long term recovery.
At their Muncie facility, they also offer a special outpatient program just for new moms who are facing addiction. Called the Maternal Treatment Program, it provides care for mothers and their newborns who are addicted to chemical substances. Here, they focus on recovery centered education and treatment. They also link you to community resources that can offer additional support.
