About Meridian HealthCare – Youngstown
Meridian Healthcare’s Main Campus, located in Youngstown, Ohio, provides primary care, behavioral health care, and addiction recovery services for children, adolescents, and adults They offer medication assisted treatment, residential treatment, intensive outpatient (IOP) and general outpatient programs, and aftercare support. Specialized services are available for clients with co-occurring addictions and mental health disorders.
Their MAT services help clients safely withdraw from opioids, alcohol, and other substances before transitioning into other stages of recovery. As needed, providers can administer FDA-approved addiction medications, including methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone to reduce the physical pain of withdrawal, minimize cravings, and lower the risk of relapse. Clients may enter into residential treatment when the medical detox process is complete.
Their residential treatment allows clients to address their addictions in a safe and supportive environment. Here, they will receive around the clock care and services tailored to their needs. Most clients remain in residential treatment for approximately one month. Then, clients may transition into an outpatient treatment program.
At Meridian Healthcare’s Main Campus, the outpatient treatment process begins with an assessment to determine an appropriate treatment plan. This service provides continued support for addiction recovery through individual therapy. Using a person-centered approach based on respect, providers can address mental health and behavioral health challenges with each client. Available outpatient services include individual and group therapy, addiction education, life skills and relapse prevention training, and family programming.
Therapy creates the space to explore the psychological challenges associated with the addiction. With the help of a professional, individuals are given the space and direction to talk about and process their emotions. Often this includes unresolved trauma, anger, depression, anxiety, and the need for more control or autonomy in life.
Life skills are taught to support those who suffer from addiction so they can learn a better way to cope and handle life stressors, while also learning the skills needed to function successfully in the world. These skills include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free but to thrive in all areas of life.
At Meridian Healthcare, family members are welcome to participate in the recovery process of their loved ones. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and a thorough understanding of these dynamics can help create shifts within the family unit that support both the person in treatment and the family as a whole. If additional therapy is needed, it may be requested.
Their aftercare program includes referrals to local providers and social services that can support each client’s long-term recovery goals.
