Merit Resource Services is a drug and alcohol rehab facility located in Kennewick, Washington. They provide outpatient treatment for people of all ages with substance use disorder (SUD) and alcohol use disorder. They treat people who have concurrent mental health issues and substance use issues. They can provide medically assisted treatment if necessary.
You will have a full assessment when you enter the program. This will determine the best type of treatment for you. It will also let the staff know the level of care that you require. Most clients start with an intensive outpatient program (IOP). This means you will go in for thearpy several days a week for several hours at a time. Eventually, you will step down to a treatment program in which you will come in once or twice a week.
You will have both group and individual therapy. They provide drug and alcohol education which will teach you the effects of alcohol on your body. They will also provide behavioral therapy which teaches you to change your thought process to change your behavior.
The American Society of Addiction Medicine teaches that there are six dimensions to stabilization. You must detoxify from drugs. Then you must address any physical complications from detox. You need to admit that you have a problem. You then have to be ready to change. You must know how to prevent relapse. You also need a healthy living environment.
The directors of this facility believe you must be fully stabilized in all areas in order for therapy to be successful. They believe treatment is a long-term process. Most people will be in the intensive outpatient program for six to eight weeks. Regular outpatient therapy may last years.
