About MHS – Center Star ACT – San Diego
MHS Center Star ACT is located in San Diego, California. They provide alcohol and drug rehab services and mental health treatment to individuals between the ages of 25 and 29 who have been involved in the criminal justice system and who are diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness. Their services are provided through a residential and outpatient level of care.
The residential program provides 24/7 supervision for individuals who are unable to live on their own and maintain safety and well-being. Individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, case management services, and educational programming are provided. The goal of this program is to help individuals stabilize so that they can move down into an outpatient level of care successfully.
The outpatient program assists individuals in receiving the level of support they need to safely and effectively integrate back into their community. Medication management services, peer support services, vocational rehab services, community-based services, and supportive housing services are provided. Individual therapy, group therapy, referrals to self-help groups, and skills-building classes are provided.
Transitional living homes are for individuals who need a safe environment while they are in a state of transition. This also includes supporting Veterans who may otherwise become homeless. Families that consist of single mothers and their children are also made a priority.
