About MHS – Family and Youth Alternatives – FYA – Fresno

MHS – Family and Youth Alternatives – FYA (now called TURN Behavioral Health Services) offers addiction and mental health treatment for youth in Fresno, California. They also provide valuable community resources, including mental health services, drug court programs, and case management.

Treatment at TURN Behavioral Health Services begins with a mental health assessment to screen for symptoms of addiction or co-occurring mental health disorders. Services are provided through an intensive outpatient program (IOP) and a juvenile drug court outpatient program.

Youth in the IOP attend individual and group treatment sessions for improved coping skills, peer support, and recovery support. Sessions are held on an outpatient basis 3-4 days per week, for six months.

The court-related outpatient program is called PROPS (post-release outpatient services). This six-month program requires individuals to attend 90-minute sessions three times per week.

Medicaid, private insurances, funding and sliding-scale options are available. You’ll want to check with your insurance provider to verify specific coverage details, including out-of-network benefits.
