About Moore Youth and Family Services – Moore
Moore Youth and Family Services (MYFS) is a private counseling center in Moore, just south of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Their mission is to use various programs to assist youth and families with all things mental health.
They offer addiction treatment to both adults and teens, although most of their programs are built to help those under age 18. Substance use disorder counseling is offered for free to those under 18 and adults who meet income eligibility.
For services that aren’t free, you can pay for sessions with cash or receive assistance through a state or federal grant or subsidy, as well as Medicaid.
The central part of MYFS’s substance use disorder (SUD) program provides counseling for anyone who needs assistance with their recovery. These counseling sessions occur on an outpatient basis only and can take the form of individual, family, or group counseling sessions.
Part of their program includes preventative education and support for adolescents in situations where there might pressure to use substances. Their program also includes recovery planning and peer support to help people in recovery maintain longer term sobriety.
Apart from its addiction program, MYFS has numerous other resources that help adolescents in all kinds of difficult situations. Some examples of this help are the array of services they offer to teens who, in one way or another, are victimized by criminal acts. These survivors often have complex and specialized needs, which, if not addressed can lead to long term mental health concerns and other issues.
They also have programs designed to help young people and people in recovery find employment and learn valuable skills for independent living. With these programs, MYFS not only helps you address substance use or mental health struggles but also helps you think about building a future after the struggle.
