About Mountain Lakes Behavioral Healthcare – Guntersville
Mountain Lakes Behavioral Health Center or MLBHC is a hospital geared solely towards managing mental health and addiction issues in Guntersville, Alabama. Along with an inpatient program to provide more intensive support for behavioral health concerns, there is an opioid treatment program and a substance use prevention program.
In 2017, MLBHC received a State Targeted Response Grant which is designed to directly tackle opioid addiction. This grant allowed the facility to create an opioid treatment program that created a network of physicians, clinicians, and mental health providers. This is an outpatient program but it is unclear if MLBHC’s opioid program provides medication assisted treatment (MAT) assistance if needed or if the facility will simply refer you to a detox program elsewhere.
Cedar Lodge is an inpatient program that is primarily aimed towards pregnant women and people using drugs intravenously. It’s a two to three week program but is designed for individuals who have already successfully detoxed as you must pass a drug test before being admitted. People that need medication assisted treatment (MAT) are encouraged to seek treatment before attempting to enroll in Cedar Lodge.
MLBHC also provides behavioral health services to the greater Guntersville community. This includes individual and group therapy sessions, family counseling and even referral services for individuals that need more intensive support. The facility notes that no one will be turned away from substance abuse care because of an inability to pay.
