About Muckleshoot Indian Tribe – Auburn
The Muckleshoot Indian Tribe Behavioral Health Program in Auburn, Washington, provides outpatient treatment for substance use and mental health disorders. They also provide adult and youth prevention activities and recovery housing. These services are available for Native Americans and Tribal members living near or on the Muckleshoot Indian Reservation. The clinic accepts Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance.
Clients receive individual and group counseling. There’s a lot of flexibility with their intensive outpatient groups since they’re offered in the morning, afternoon and evening. The program can also include gambling counseling for clients who need it.
In addition to counseling, clients can receive medication assisted treatment (MAT). MAT drugs include Suboxone, Sublocade and Vivitrol. MAT helps clients detox from opioids and can help with alcohol addiction.
Syringe services programs (SSPs) are designed to reduce the spread of viral infections such as HIV and hepatitis. They offer access to clean needles while disposing of used needles. The SSP at this location can help connect clients with testing, vaccination and SUD treatment programs.
For clients who have a DUI violation, there are DUI assessment services. DUI assessments determine a client’s alcohol and drug involvement and the best course of action for treatment.
A unique aspect of the Muckleshoot SUD treatment program is their equine services. Equine services offer therapy in conjunction with working with horses. There’s also an equine assistant work training program that teaches equine related job skills along with general job skills. Clients engage in peer related activities and learn valuable skills like workplace conflict resolution. There are weekly healing groups such as Poetry with Ponies and a social and emotional skills group.
