About Natrona County – Adult Drug Court – Casper
Natrona County’s Adult Drug Court is in Casper, Wyoming on South Wolcott Street. The program is for adults with substance use disorder (SUD) who have been arrested for a nonviolent offense. The program provides treatment as an alternative sentence for substance abusing offenders.
The drug court’s mission is to effectively use community resources to assist offenders in becoming substance free while improving their quality of life. Instead of incarceration, clients participate in SUD treatment.
Although some clients finish the program in 18 months, most clients require up to 30 months. The program includes intensive treatment and supervision with case managers overseeing and modifying participant behavior.
Clients must submit to frequent mandatory drug and alcohol testing. There are also random employment and home visits to ensure compliance. The program includes a variety of evidence based counseling modalities. Case managers use immediate sanctions, as well as incentives, to guide the defendants through the program.
