New Horizons-Treasure Coast in Fort Pierce, Florida, is part of an accredited mental health and addiction treatment agency. This 5th Street location is just one of nine facilities across four counties that collectively serve up to 14,000 kids and adults per year, regardless of whether they’re able to cover the cost of treatment. This particular center specializes in outpatient mental health and addiction treatment services for adults, children, and families.
If you need detox, the main campus on Midway Road can help. Once at the 15 bed detox center, clients will undergo a medically assisted detox, with prescribed meds helping them manage withdrawal symptoms. Medical and psychosocial treatment combine here to help clients move through detox and prepare for treatment.
If outpatient treatment is most appropriate for your needs, you may find yourself at the 5th Street clinic. Beyond the typical counseling, you can benefit from targeted case management services to support you through substance use and/or mental health concerns. Case management can help you coordinate care as well as link you to community services and agencies, including help finding stable and supportive housing. They also provide educational resources to families and loved ones about addiction and mental health conditions and coping strategies.
Another unique service available in St. Lucie County is the psychosocial rehab and independent living skills training. Overcoming addiction isn’t just about not using substances; it’s about living an independent and productive life. This program will help you with employment skills, social skills, and educate you about how to use community resources. They can also help you learn medication management and other healthy habits. This prepares you to live on your own, confident in your ability to do everything from managing your bills to having fun without substance use.
