About New Life Community Services – Santa Cruz
Located in Santa Cruz, California, New Life Community Services offers adults with alcohol and substance use disorder a variety of treatment options including residential treatment, counseling services and aftercare programs focusing on a 12 Step social model from a Biblical perspective. Participants in their residential treatment program may reside at New Life for up to six months. During this time, individuals must be employed, go to school or participate in volunteer service in the community while working on their recovery journey. New Life Community Services has private pay options including a sliding scale fee plan according to income. They accept only Santa Cruz MediCal insurance.
New Life Community Services understands that family is an important component in the recovery process. They allow parents with young children and adolescents to bring their children with them, free of charge, during their participation in the residential treatment programs.
For those participating in the residential treatment program, counseling and therapeutic group work typically occurs in the evenings and on weekends. Each individual is assigned an individual counselor or clinician during their stay that they will meet with at least weekly. Their trained and licensed mental health professionals and alcohol and substance abuse counselors believe in treating the whole person, so working on personal spirituality is another requirement of their residential treatment program.
After completing the residential treatment program, individuals move on to their aftercare program where they receive ongoing services that support long term recovery. Individual, group and family counseling is offered with a goal of developing and maintaining healthy coping skills and relationship building.
