About New Life For Women – Gadsden
New Life for Women is a long-term, intensive treatment program for women who struggle with drug and alcohol addiction. They serve people in the community and surrounding area of Gadsden, Alabama. This historic city is located along the Coosa River and is home to Noccalula Falls Park. The area blends southern charm with history, making it a welcome place for residents and visitors.
The program is faith-based and experiential. They use a three phase program model. Phase I of the program is residential treatment designed to offer the most intensive therapeutic care. Before beginning treatment, you undergo a comprehensive assessment and evaluation that helps determine your treatment program.
During this evaluation, they develop goals and benchmarks on which they measure your progress and determine when you move to the next phase. Phase II of the program is a three-quarter care phase designed for people who have completed the first phase of treatment and require a continued level of intensive care but not full residential treatment.
The final phase of treatment, called Phase III, is a halfway house phase and is designed for women who are finishing their treatment and transitioning back into the community. Your assessment determines at which phase you begin treatment and how long you remain in each phase.
The program provides individualized treatment planning that includes individual, group, and family therapy sessions. Their program addresses holistic needs, including addiction, relapse prevention, parenting skills, coping skills, and basic living skills. You may also have treatment to address stress and anger management, domestic abuse, or family dynamics.
The program also works with the court system to provide assessments and referrals for women who are addicted and interacting with the criminal justice system. They are a non-profit organization and accept donations, including maintaining an Amazon wish list to have items shipped directly to them.
