The New Oakland Family Center – Farmington provides mental and behavioral health treatment for children, adolescents and adults in Farmington, Michigan. They offer partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient and general outpatient programs. In addition, they offer 24 hour crisis stabilization. They can also provide referrals to specialized treatment like alcohol or drug rehab.
New Oakland’s day program offers intensive, structured daily therapeutic services. Children, teens and adults are put in age appropriate groups. The program runs six hours a day Monday through Friday.
Their PHP program provides six hours of treatment per day in a nurturing environment. The program is for those with acute mental health symptoms and the average length of PHP care is 7 to 10 days. The focus is on group therapy and they also provide individual and family therapy, medication management, mental health education and transportation to and from the program.
The New Oakland Family Center IOP is helpful for those with mental health issues, which may include a primary mental health diagnosis and a co-occurring substance use disorder. The program has three-hour sessions three days per week. Services are similar to the PHP program.
