About New Paths Inc – Flint
New Paths, Inc. is a behavioral health and recovery center offering comprehensive services for adults with mental health and substance use disorders. They’re located on Hamilton Avenue in Flint, Michigan. They offer several services and programs, including a residential treatment program and outpatient care.
The facility’s programs are CARF-accredited, and they accept several types of health insurance. They take individuals referred from and screened by Region 10 who have Medicaid or are eligible for Block Grant funding. You can also self pay.
In the residential program, you’ll get individualized services based on medical necessity, all aimed at supporting and sustaining your recovery from alcohol and/or drugs. The services in the inpatient program include didactic presentations, group therapy, and peer led support. You’ll take part in recreational activities and learn life skills. If appropriate, you’ll have family sessions. All of this happens in a structured environment where you’ll stay for at least 30 days but no more than 90 days.
If the inpatient program isn’t right for you, there’s also day treatment in an intensive outpatient program (IOP). This is a structured program that’s less restrictive than the inpatient program but more intense than the regular outpatient program. The IOP includes peer led support as well as group, individual, and didactic therapy. You’ll also participate in recreational opportunities. You’ll live at home while participating in the IOP.
There’s a general outpatient (OP) program if you need recovery support but still need to go to a job or school. You’ll have a treatment plan based on your individual needs, and you’ll attend group and individual therapy and peer led support groups.
The facility offers medication assisted treatment (MAT) for opioid use disorder and alcohol use disorder. The medications support abstinence while reducing harm. Some of the medications used are oral and injectable naltrexone, oral buprenorphine, and injectable Sublocade. You’ll also have therapy when using MAT.
If you’re coming due to a court ordered referral, you can also get treatment at this facility. You’ll work with care coordinators and clinical therapists to explore better ways of living that don’t include illicit behaviors. The facility’s mission is to help all their clients change their lives for the better through evidence based, innovative new paths.
